I found it on SmittenKitchen and was totally smitten by it. It was nice to see this small island somewhat imaginary with only horses and bicycles. And of course with horse comes dung and associated smell. I wonder how it would have been if there were no motored vehicles. Maybe we would have had dung disposal areas and water stands for horses.Mackinac Island was another place to visitpink tangerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12567549564352295484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8890608147423021626.post-8807782018355185662009-07-29T12:00:00.004-04:002009-07-29T12:13:19.461-04:00Stuffed Celery Sticks for the 'CLICK' eventThis is the first time I'm sending to any blog events. I have used blue berries in pancake's, waffle's, buckle, muffin's, salad's and cobbler. Then it was my daughter who came up with the idea of adding blue berries to cookies. Actually it was not a bad idea. So just turned the oatmeal raisin cookie to oatmeal blue berry cookies.Ingredients:1 cup flour1/2 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp powdered cinnamon1-1/2 cups oats1pink tangerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12567549564352295484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8890608147423021626.post-13478044724050203222009-06-26T10:26:00.005-04:002009-06-26T10:33:08.449-04:00One in a million giraffeWe uploaded one giraffe to One Million GiraffeLink to our giraffe pink tangerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12567549564352295484noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8890608147423021626.post-80818117072238831452009-06-25T17:28:00.005-04:002009-06-25T17:48:08.906-04:00Summer art workWe took another book from the drawing is easy series "Drawing with Nature". This was really fun because it involved messing with paint and collecting leaves, pine cones, twigs and shells. My daughter made the turtle as a birthday card for her friend's 6th birthday. I used to make pizza with frozen Naan. This time wanted to try making the dough at home. Few weeks ago NY Times had a series on healthier pizzas. For the dough I used whole wheat flour as specified in the NY Times recipe.Whole Wheat Pizza Dough Ingredients:2 teaspoons active dry yeast1 cup warm water1/2 teaspoon sugar1 tablespoon pink tangerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12567549564352295484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8890608147423021626.post-28418097888329758662009-06-10T18:35:00.004-04:002009-06-13T13:08:37.379-04:00Stuffed Pita PocketsStuffed pita pockets is a quick and easy crowd pleasing appetizer. Also a great dish for kids lunch box. The stuffing can be anything...its up to your imagination. I had stuffed the pita pockets in the below photo with sauteed veggies (onion, coriander leaves, orange bell pepper, green onions, tomato, cucumber) and fried paneer (feta cheese can be used for a Mediterranean taste). Bear dunes was one of the must see places for this year after reading "The Legend of Sleeping Bear", a very touching and moving story of mother bear's dedication and care for her cubs. I wouldn't recommend this book to children younger than 5 yrs but a very nice read for little older children. Not anymore! I have finally mastered the art of fried rice. While in India we used to have ketchup as condiment for any Chinese food. The key to good fried rice is high heat, quick cooking of vegetables and right dash of green chili, soy and tomato sauce.Ingredients: - Finely chopped onions, cabbage, carrot, pink tangerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12567549564352295484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8890608147423021626.post-48426779380626331732009-05-30T13:26:00.000-04:002009-06-08T15:20:29.833-04:00Pinaceae family in our neighborhood.Today we sauntered with camera in hand capturing the beautiful pine buds.
