Another version of stuffed pita. Here the main stuffing is minced lamb. Cut pita into halves or quarters. Then layer them pita with sauteed spinach, finely cut red onions and tomatoes, shredded cheese and topped with cooked minced lamb.

Matchbox labels
When I saw Matchbook by Shahid Datawala in Tara Books thought to myself it is a pretty interesting collection of bygone labels and a very nice hobby. Later found there are so many people and books on match box label collections all over the world. And this hobby related to Match box is called Phillumeny. Someething new to me :-)
Amazon has some pretty good list of books.

Breath taking
Some bold, breath taking photos by Kalyan Varma. I came across the Masai Mara photos on facebook and within moments I was clicking through his website. I wish I could be part of one of those photography safari's.

Wicker love
Wicker has the qualities of Simplicity. Earthern. Breezy. Style. They have always been one of my favorite materials. Found these beautiful modern furnitures in the Cane Boutique's web site.
Wish they had an online store. During our visit this time to India we did some hunting for furnitiure, the collections in some of the stores in the smaller cities are so patethetic. Most of them are branded as classic collection, royal, imported...with a big price tag and visually very grotesque.

Apple Cakes
Apple cake made it to all the holiday parties hosted at our place this year. I found it on SmittenKitchen and was totally smitten by it. Tried it on Thanks giving, then again for another party and in mini cup cake form for the New years.
This is one of those recipies that would not go wrong however you mix them as long as the proportions are correct.
I adjusted the proportions to my pan size.
For 9" circular pan used
3 apples, I used Gala
1 tbs cinnamon
5 tbs sugar
1.5 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
0.5 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup orange juice
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
Method as described in SmittenKitchen
Smell of cinnamon and sugar hmmmmmm....
